We can talk about being kind, we can go through our to dos and check off boxes of accomplishments, we can say we will try to live our best life. But when you do one act in a manner that truly matters and comes from a place of true caring and compassion, it speaks volumes. •
At graduation, one of our dear friend’s was not well and needed to use a a wheelchair before & following commencement. He was a real trooper pushing hard and walking that aisle and doing all the standing he had to during the ceremony! But his sweet momma, @carriethegreat35 , was so worried he’d push too much! When @llogna said, don’t worry I’ll take care of him!!
And she did! And she did it from a place of love, kindness & genuine caring. See, they’ve known each other since they were 4! They’ve been buds for 14 years!! This moment was captured as his mom & myself were standing on chairs, searching for our kids - mind you, like the ONLY kids we couldn’t find! And then here they come through a sea of people who parted ways as they saw these two smiling faces!
This is an act that will be forever remembered & shared. These smiles are real & not posed. The thing you don’t see is the two moms taking the photo who are smiling just as big with hearts bursting! Our hearts were heavy that day as we were seeing our children move on to another chapter. We were so proud, yet as moms we are a little sad in the heart to see them go. So, seeing this moment made our hearts so blessed. Knowing that we’ve done something right in these last 18 years because this photo represents what is right in the world. •
Today, I’m sending a hug out to my dear friend, Carrie, because we sure did good & it shows. I’m sending out a prayer for all young people that they see that true kindness is in acts and that they strive daily to perform these acts from their hearts. I am thankful that I was blessed to have a child that, while she tests my patience to the core of my being, also has the ability to make me so proud! And finally a huge hug to Ben and his ability to smile through it all! He’s an amazing young man who is going amazing places and as a another mom who has seen you grow up and find you, I am proud of you, too!
