The joint liaison office building between South and North Korea appeared on the TV news yesterday.
The news was unfortunate, but I was more than happy to see the building.
13 years ago, I was pregnant with my second child and participated in a design competition.
Because it was a consortium, I was dispatched to the joint office to work. After the building we designed together was elected, I had a chance to travel abroad, but I couldn't go because I was nine months pregnant, so I had to go and have a baby, but the trip was on my behalf. I was so sorry that I worked overtime every night while I was pregnant. The general design manager of the joint office company said, "Now that it's over, you should go home and get some rest. How hard it must be for you to be pregnant.' Thank you so much for your concern for me as a pregnant woman. It was hard, but my child was born with a healthy 4.04kg baby, probably thanks to snacks for me who kept me working late and struggling.
Over the years, the building remained like this, and I was very happy and rewarding.
But the fact that North Korea has withdrawn its staff from joint liaison offices in South and North Korea is bad news, and I hope the staff will be back as soon as possible.
