Even though I am training for a half marathon, I want to try and maintain my strength, so I have been continuing my regular resistance training program. Continuing my regular routine will not necessarily help me to run faster but it will maintain my strength, reduce the risk of injury and lower limb training will help with my running efficiency.
Over the last few weeks I have been running 3 days per week and resistance training 4-5. The last two weeks before the run I will reduce my resistance sessions to 3 days per week and will focus primarily on running and recovery.
