LET'S TALK LEAVING THE HOUSE... This is little angel is the reason why sometimes (okay a lot of the time) I'm late, and past the point of fashionably.
This outfit, cute right? so cute when it was covered in regurgitated puree just a few hours later; then just a few hours after that when 💩 had leaked through her second change of clothes - so cute it's unbearable.
I remember once saying to someone "there's no such thing as a spontaneous trip out of the house, and they laughed, but really - first it involves a military mission of milk prep, changing bag packing, entertaining baby whilst you try and make yourself look like less of a warmed up corpse, and probably a change of clothes or two for both of you before even attempting to step foot out of the door.
Let alone the battle with yourself, telling yourself you should get out more but the worst part of you telling yourself that you don't need to and that you should just stay inside and resign yourself to the house, yet again.
So if a mum cancels on you last minute more than once, try and stay understanding, it took all their mental effort to go but their anxiety wouldn't let them.
If a mum is 15 minutes late, try not to sigh in despair and moan about how awful we are, we know your time is valuable - but just know it took all the mental and physical energy we had to come, so you are special to us.
What's your best leaving the house story? When you're late are people understanding?
