If you’re in the sport of powerlifting, you have a coach. If you don’t- you need one. .
Make sure when looking for one you’re looking for a coach that is not on only experienced in the sport but has studied it and knows everything from the basic principles of strength training to how to optimally utilize them in a specific program, implemented towards that specific goal of strength, power, and/or athleticism. While this generation has more access to misinformation on the internet, and even shittier certifications that ‘water down’ our field. .
I have a degree in this. I have done this since I was 13 years old. I’ve read and taken courses- mostly due to college. THIS man, this coach, @dave.jenkz has read more books than anyone I know. He’s read more studies than anyone I know. He is the QUICKEST to learn a new concept- whether through a textbook or another lifters experience and INSTANTLY implement it. Like I mean in his next session. Just to see if it is beneficial and how he could cycle that in to his program.
He’s coached all time WR holders-not that he would post about that- athletes of ALL ages, and teams from football to field hockey. HES the one you want to trust with your plan. .
Do your research. Study your coaches.
