When you keep changing your shoes 👞👟🥾
My brother @turbotweep and I used to be crazy for running shoes. Always chasing the next asics trainer for our running needs (or wants?). 🛍️💸
I have stopped the chase since my trainers day and stuck to these simple staples for my everyday workout needs. 🏋️♂️🤸♂️
👉 Minimalist shoes 👣 are amazingly durable and tough. Despite the insane runs and races I used it for, it is still intact and usable. The sole is kindly ripped off already but it's Minimalist so the sole is only for grip. (like waste money hor?)
Minimalist shoes are superb for training your 🏃♂️ leg strength as you had to land perfectly and softly every single step no matter if its a run or jump or walk, therefore fully utilising every leg and feet muscles.
Instead of getting such shoes, you can actually just run 👣 Barefoot on the treadmill which has suspension. . 👉 I have since switched back to normal running / trainer shoes for cushion. 👟👟
After army, obviously getting older and whatnot, we also realised that in the long term, it is not worth wearing Minimalist for runs which have major landing impacts on our soles, ankles, knees and shin (some even back strains).
Thus we all switched back. It is so much easier to run using normal running shoes as it feels like a spring board compared to the Minimalist shoes. 💯 . 👉 I have been using 🚶♂️🏕️⛰️ Hiking shoes since Dec 2018, initially just for hiking but it has integrated to my everyday life at work becos it's so comfortable, lightweight, provides good sole support and it is waterproof. It is also greatly affordable.
Been using it for my workouts albeit heavier for my runs but good enough. Definitely pushed my limits during sprints.
After 7 months of use, the cushion is still better than my running shoes. 😂
PS: IF YOU ARE BUYING RUNNING SHOES 👟👞
✅ do buy half size bigger 🆙
✅ do take note it is recommended to change every 6months as the cushion would have collapsed if you run regularly. Don't need to buy expensive ones! (actually I damn long never change shoe. Don't run as much already 😜).
