What do you do to calm down when the chaos hits? 🤪
I used to rely heavily on food, and lightly on alcohol, to tame the chaos that life threw at me.
With kids home for the summer, long days at work and a head full of squirrels ready to distract me at any minute, I have had to design a plan to calm when the storm hits.
My first plan of action - Quiet 🙉 • this can be in the form of meditation, a shower, sitting alone, or even a car ride solo with the radio off!
If quiet isn’t possible, next comes exercise! 🏃🏽♀️
• not only does exercise release happy hormones, it also forces you to think about one thing at a time! (Ok, maybe 2 or 3...🤷🏻♀️) I always end up with a feeling of accomplishment, more relaxed, and with a smile on my face.
Laughter comes next for me! 😂🤣
• funny podcasts, a few quick YouTube cat videos, or even dancing around like a complete moron in my kitchen, resets my mind and gives me fresh focus when I need it.
And finally...tea! ☕️
•Contrary to what I used to believe, for me, tea is a calmer! It not only helps me focus, but it also brings a warm calm and allows my brain to focus.
