I watched as our two-year old boy spied on the older kids’ play. He wanted to be a part of it, of what seemed to be a game of running, chasing, and teasing. He tried to come closer, tried to get their attention, but he was just too young, too measly to be noticed. Pitiful, little boy trying his best to go after the bigger kids. I felt sorry, all the while hoping that he would soon realize it will take some time for him to be as big as they are, but he will get there. He will get there for sure.
Now, he’s asleep. Now, dad can rest. It’s his day after all. Now, mama can take in this cup, all the while hoping and dreaming for her little boy to be the person he’s meant to be.
