Mayanologists call him the “Descending God” but no one really knows what he meant or stood for. 🤔 His image appears in the lintels atop the largest pyramids in Coba and Tulum, facing the dawn. In the Dresden Codex, the same head-down, wide-armed god appears, but his face is replaced with the Mayan glyph for “star constellation.” ✨ Some say he is “Ah-Muzen-Cab” the Mayan god of bees. And bees were a big f***ing deal. The Mayan word for “honey” also means “the world.” So perhaps the falling-from-stars god was a sustaining or even creating deity. A busy morning 🐝 Anyway, I made some new stickers.
