Our most exciting and unique trips that we offer are the trips on our home waters, the Upper Flint River. It is hard to describe how awesome this river is. On these trips, we target Shoal Bass, a native, endemic black bass that can only be found in the Flint and a few other rivers in Georgia, East Alabama, and North Florida. This fish is as worthy an adversary on the fly rod as any that you can fish for. They eagerly take poppers, streamers, nymphs, and dries, and collide with these flies with such force that they will often fool you into thinking they are twice the size they actually are. That being said, there are plenty of trophy fish in this river. We regularly catch Shoalies exceeding 20”. We offer half and full day wading trips, and half and full day floats through the gorgeous shoals of the Flint. You will also have chances at Largemouth, Spotted Bass (an invasive which we will throw into the cooler on our float trips), and Longnose Gar. This fishery could be compared to the Madison River for Trout or the Susquehanna for Smallmouth. It’s that good. Come experience it with us.
