As Australia mourns the passing of Bob Hawke, one of our most colourful and celebrated Prime Ministers, we’ve been given pause to remember time spent in his company while designing the Hawke Building for University of South Australia. Possessed of both brilliance and remarkable charisma, he was great company. Just one example of the way architecture connects us to people from so many different walks of Australian life and invites us to appreciate the richness of our cultural landscape.

Our first project in Western Australia will be a landmark building for Curtin University’s Perth campus. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ The new facility for the School of Design and the Built Environment will contribute significantly to the vibrant university community, sitting at the heart of the dedicated innovation precinct. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ See more of the design at the link in bio.

Working with artists is an important part of our story. In each instance where we’ve integrated a work into a building, the process has encouraged us to reconsider a building’s relationship to the public realm and has enriched our architecure. . And so, in making Sydney feel like home, we’ve brought part of an artwork by Peter Kennedy that was originally commissioned for our Melbourne CBD office back in 2001. The neon sign illuminates both our new space in Surry Hills and our studio in Collingwood. One studio in two locations. . A n d S o...Illumination 1 2002-2003 Artwork by Peter Kennedy

We are excited to announce we’ll be designing the new Nature and Science Precinct at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. . This project draws together many strands of deep interest for our practice – landscape, horticulture, history, art and science and we look forward to exploring the many design possibilities this will bring. . Working in collaboration with Laidlaw & Laidlaw Design Landscape Architects, the precinct aims to deliver some new key learning and gallery spaces for the Gardens. Sunset on another week. We’re pleased to see the progress at our #holmeapartments project and the scalloped forms taken from the impressions of the old silos of this area. . @cbusproperty @hacergroup 🎥@byrickjordan
